Westchester County is known for its beautiful homes—and its complicated building department process. Through years of working alongside architects and navigating local building departments, I’ve seen how quickly a project can escalate once permits are involved: hourly architectural fees, filing costs, resubmissions, and months of review that can add high cost and time before construction even begins.

Because of this complexity, many homeowners assume that any interior change requires an architect and formal permit filings. In practice, that isn’t always the case—but knowing the difference requires experience.

That observation is what shaped my approach to interior design.

My work isn’t anti-architect or anti-renovation. It’s about helping clients slow down, understand their interiors, and explore what’s possible before committing to costly construction. Many times, meaningful change can happen without structural work, permits, or long timelines—through thoughtful planning and cosmetic changes like finishes, lighting, and furnishings.

I help clients make informed decisions, so when they do choose to take on major construction, it’s intentional, necessary, and aligned with how they actually live.
